A Practical, Simulation-Based Approach

EnactEd delivers VR Simulation-based professional learning to help teachers bridge the gap between knowing the theory, and implementing it in the classroom.

In Virtual Reality, teachers can practise responding to authentic ai-powered classroom scenarios, receive immediate, actionable feedback, and repeat key interactions until effective responses become automatic. They receive immediate, actionable feedback, and can repeat key interactions until effective responses become automatic.

This approach helps teachers bridge the gap between theory and practice, allowing them to rehearse critical responses safely and repeatedly, before they hit the classroom.

‘Hard Lessons’

Our Behaviour-Management Skills Mastery Model.

“So many times, I’ve had to watch teachers, who I know understand in theory what they should do, unable to execute it under pressure in the classroom. It’s so hard to watch!”

Model Structure:

‘Hard Lessons’ is structured as a sequence of 5 modules that mirror the escalating challenges of classroom practice; beginning with Establishing a classroom presence, and simple settling strategies, right through to dealing with complex escalation and defiance situations.

Each module is delivered through a three-phase progression that mirrors the ‘Gradual Release’ learning structure:

Guided Practice —> Supported Performance —> Fully-Independent execution.

This ensures teachers not only understand what they should to do, but can execute skills with confidence, and consistency in the moment.

Report:

Completion of the 5 modules generates a report, including a Radar-plot of their Behaviour Management skill execution, a list of hte the skills the teacher applied, and feedback on their execution.

Modules:

Module 1 –‍ ‍Settling the Class & Establishing Expectations

  • This module is designed to help teachers establish control at the very start of a lesson. Through guided virtual reality rehearsal, teachers practice delivering entry routines, gaining attention quickly, and reinforcing positive behaviours. The scenario focuses on making intentional early choices that shape classroom climate.

Module 2 –Effective Instruction & Reinforcing Expectations

  • Build on Module 1’s settling strategies, with opportunities to deploy & practice strategies like ‘Cueing through Parallel Acknowledgement’ and ‘holding the pause’ to fully settle a class, then reinforce expectations, using descriptive praise.

Module 3–Handling Transitions & Smooth Release.

  • How does an effective teacher release students without losing control of the classroom? This scenario helps teachers practice executing the skills of an effective transition and release.

Module 4 –‍ ‍Disruption & Attention-Seeking behaviours

  • This module develops teacher capability in responding to low-level disruption without interrupting lesson flow. Teachers practise selective attention, calm redirection, and maintaining instructional momentum under pressure.

Module 5 - Dealing with Defiance.

  • Teachers face off with defiant students in a controlled classroom environment, where they can practice the scripts, skills and steps to deescalate, maintain credibility, and gain compliance, without having to resort to giving detentions.
